Camps, Camps, Camps
There are camps all over the US for ages 7-16. They are located on lakes, near National Parks, in the mountains, near the desert. Sound like something your child might enjoy? They can be single sex, coed or brother-sister. Some specialize in sports, some in arts, some in water sports, some in outdoor living including hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, biking.
Some camps allow the camper to choose his own schedule daily, some by the week, and some offer a structured schedule so that each child tries everything in a session.
Some camps offer color war and other competitive sporting events and lots of sports instruction. Other camps pride themselves in having no competition at all. There are some camps that offer a wide variety of arts, including theater, dance, drawing and painting, glass blowing, ceramics, film making and clowning.
Several exciting reasons to attend camp are the chance to participate in activities unavailable at home, the chance to "reinvent" yourself among new friends, and the opportunity to be independent and learn how to make decisions for yourself with the aid of experienced counselors and directors.
The consultants at Camp and Teen Travel visit camps in the summer and can give you objective information based on those visits and the feedback we receive from families we have aided.
There's a camp for every child with every interest.
